Social Business Networks
Why Building Relationships Will
Build Your Income

The most prominent social networks are

http://PeopleString.com

http://www.myspace.com

http://facebook.com

http://twitter.com

A word about PeopleString.com:  this one pays a percentage of all of it's advertising revenue back to the people using the system.  Basically, you get paid for your social networking activity.   Can you image if Facebook paid it's members for using their service?  Get on board with PeopleString today (after all... it's 100% free! and it gives you another free method to reach others about your business!)

All combined these social networking sites boast membership bases of more than 1.06 hundred million.   That's a lot of people!

Using Social Network Marketing, you can connect to millions of other people that can turn into prospects for your business.  But, instead of yelling "Hey, buy my stuff!" or "Hey!  Join My Business!", you will be building a relationship with these people and branding YOU as the 'go to person' when they have a question or when they are looking to join a specific company - which you just happen to already be a member of!  :-)

Social Marketing is done online using several websites.  You will be making friends, finding people that have the same interests as you, and sharing valuable information with complete strangers online.  I will expose you to several different social media websites that will allow you to connect with literally 1,000,000's of other people that can be potential prospects for your business.  You can create groups, post your links, you name it.

Advertising in social networks is much different than advertising using safelists and traffic exchanges.   You must understand why those people are taking part in any social network.  Most are there to either sell you something or get you to join their business by screaming it at you day after day after day.  Some are there just to find others with the same interests as they have (i.e., bowling, swimming, golfing, making money, etc.)  Are they looking for information? friendships? a connection with others? help with their current business? help finding a new business to join because there's is either a) too expensive with autoship or b)  no longer in business?

Only after you have realized why those other people are part of the social network in the first place will you be able to target your advertising to them.  You must know what they are there for before you can even begin advertising to them.  In my experience, the number one biggest mistake that most advertisers make in social marketing is that they don't make an enticing offer that matches what these people are looking for or interested in.

Here's a few things to ask yourself before you start your advertising campaigns in social networks.

  1. What do these people all have in common?

  2. Why are they visiting this website?

  3. What are they looking for? information? relationships?

  4. If you were a member of that social network how would you feel about what you are planning to do for advertising?

  5. How can you build credibility with the social network that you are targeting?

  6. What offer will get people in that network to take action?

Social Network Marketing can take several times contacting the members about other than business communication. It may take days, weeks, or months of developing relationships before making a business offer. Use your best judgement to determine when to introduce your business or products to your new friends/contacts.

Join the social networking sites located below through the links on this page. If you already have an account with them, you can use your existing account.  You don't have to create new accounts.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

IGNORE EVERYTHING IN THESE SITES EXCEPT THE PARTS WE'RE DISCUSSING!!

Invite EVERYONE to be your friend. Also, be sure to write a note in the "friend request" if possible and always always always include your website address. DO NOT SELL in the friend invite. Just simply say something like:

Hi, just looking to network with other business people.

Would love to hear any successful ways that you advertise and market your business, and of course I will surely share any with you that I come across.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
DO NOT USE YOUR .WS DOMAIN
ALWAYS USE ANOTHER DOMAIN NAME (i.e., a .com or .net or .biz)
WHY?  IF ONE OF THESE PEOPLE DECIDE TO REPORT YOU FOR SPAM
YOU COULD LOOSE YOUR .WS DOMAIN AND YOUR GDI ACCOUNT

My recommendation to you is to get a domain from www.GoDaddy.com and forward your .ws domain to it or forward our team capture page to it.  If you don't know how to do this, get a domain WITHOUT hosting and then call GoDaddy Support and have them walk you through how to forward the domain you just purchased to a different site.  You can get a domain name for less than $12 per year with www.GoDaddy.com
(and you may even be able to save more if you put the coupon code / promo code 'diggnation' when purchasing your domain)

TIME SAVING TIP: Copy and Paste your "note" in wordpad or a notepad file and just paste it in each friend request so that you're not stuck typing all night.    To open notepad using windows, click Start | Programs | Accessories | Notepad.  Same thing for Wordpad... but choose Wordpad instead.  :-)

Copy the text you want to send out to your new "friends' and save that to your desktop using a filename you will remember.

Did you know that you can save the "note' and then use the CTRL-C to copy and the CTRL-V to paste?  That's right.  Open your saved "note" and then hightlight all of it and press the CTRL key on your keyboard and C  at the same time to copy the text.  Then, put the cursor in the friend request note area and press CTRL and V at the same time on your keyboard to paste the text.  Once copied, you can press CTRL-V over and over again until you CTRL-C to copy something else.  Make sense?

You can also highlight the text you want to copy, right-click and choose copy then go to the place you want to paste the text, click in the field and then right-click and choose paste.

(Listen, we're in Network Marketing/Internet Marketing - if you're scared to give your phone number out, people will be less likely to want to work with you...DON'T WORRY...they won't call you anyway, because a lot of them are scared to talk to people too!!...but it'll add lots of credibility for you.)

Get as many friends in these online communities as you possibly can...don't worry about who they are, don't worry about their profiles...the goal here is speed and numbers (and of course don't forget the note with your website in each request).  Don't worry if they live across the ocean in some obscure country you've never heard of.  GDI can be marketed worldwide... so do you want them to be part of your friends list or not?  Yes!!!!

See how many you can get in 24 hours. Track your results in a notebook or piece of paper or online. Please write down the following things:

  • how long you spent on this activity in terms of hours/minutes.
  • how long it took you to setup the accounts for this activity (just write already setup if you had the accounts)
  • how many friends you requested (approx) in each site
  • how many friends accepted your requests in each site

.....GO!!

NEXT:

Double (or more) the number of members in your friends lists.
Track your results.

Yes....sometimes repetition sucks, but it's more important than you think when it comes to Internet Marketing.  Keeping focused on the goal of building your business is what it is all about.   You WANT to be financially free, don't you?

Your goal now is to beat the results that you previously had. Please record the numbers of friends that you currently have...and simply go out and do it all again...but try to do it more. I know, I know, I know...but you put a lot of effort into the last 24 hours. Do it again. Your results after doing these assignments will more than pay for the hard work and stuggles that you're putting in now.

Go ahead...see if you can get more friends on your list in the next 24 hours than you did in the last 24 hours....make sure to get lots, and we're going to have some fun :-)

Contacting your friends:

Once you've generated alot of contacts/friends, next we are going to start contacting them. However, I'm not going to give you the exact copy of what to say here. I want you to be creative and I really don't want everyone using the exact same emails.

I will though give you some topics or "angles" to use.

  • How are you promoting your business?
  • Do you advertise or just contact friends/family?
  • Do you buy leads?
  • How long have you been in Network/Internet Marketing?
  • How long have you been in your business? How is it going?
  • Do you advertise online at all?

These questions are designed to open a conversation with your friends. Don't just try to get them in to something or blatantly advertise to them. Your goal is to actually make friends with them and develop relationships so that you can help each other.

Have some fun with this, it is "work", but you can really develop good relationships and business partnerships in these networks. The activities in this day are unlimited based on the number of contacts in the above networks, so you can always keep doing this over and over.

Don't say stuff like,..."well I think you should drop out of blah blah and join my business because blah blah."  How would you feel if someone did that to you?  What you need to focus on is giving them information that they can use and then eventually they will want to take a look at your business if they are ready to do that.  This may take days, weeks, months or years.

The important thing is to build that relationship so that YOU are the first person they think of when they are looking to join another business.  See, you helped them even when you didn't HAVE to and when there was nothing in it for you.  They'll remember that.

Even if you think you have nothing to contribute, well... you are wrong.  If you attend our conference calls you have picked up something along the way.  What???  You haven't been on our conference calls?  We meet every Sunday evening at 7:00 pm CST.  Here's the link to last week's webinar:

I've put together another page about Social Networking here that has a great guide about how to use FaceBook without it taking all day!
